Before I buy the guide, I figured I would ask. Does any one have a soft copy of the Official Brady Games Madden 09 Guide? If so, please let me know! I get crushed in games on and offline so I'd figured I'd try to get it. Would appreciate any links to helpful advice, Thanks!

Check ebay, im sure the guide will be cheap.

MY only comments are try to avoid playing Man defense because it doesnt work in this game, and pray you can get a pass rush or else the safeties are too stupid to play a cover 2 properly after 2-3 seconds.... long story short, playing defense is a chore.... end rant

I agree, Man Defense will get you KILLED! Unless you can get to the QB immediately, crossing routes will kill you. Mind you, if you KNOW they're going to run, Man Defense is better against run cause you can bring more heat to the Line of Scrimmage.

And there's no "Magic" play, either offensively, or defensively, that will always work. Like real football, you do your best to maximize your opportunities, and do your best to keep your opponent's score low.

They WILL score. Any good player will score against anybody in Madden. Playing smart football (assuming you have the basic football knowledge and stick skills) means a LOT in online games.

I'm no expert, but I have a solid online record (75-38 or something like that) and I attribute most of it to playing "smart" football, and making good decisions, most of which are made before the snap. Good playcalling, good clock management, etc.

Oh - and teams matter. If you're not playing a good team (Cowboys, Giants, Pats, Colts, etc), don't expect to do well against guys that are.

Thanks for the advice! I play alot of games but it seems when most of my buddies get together Madden is the game of choice. I need to get better so I can talk some trash!
