Or should I wait until next year? Im looking forward to buy the Epson 1080UB but with these 2nd generation projectors coming out, should I wait until they drop even more in price? I'd hate to pass up these great rebate offers!
Thanks

Digital projectors will always be better and cheaper next year, and there will be rebates and incentives next year as well.
If you don't have a use for the PJ immediately, buy it next year.

Your in the wrong forum. If you post in the projector forums you will get more answers.

I would spend the extra $800 and get the new Epson.

You are doing yourself a dis-service by posting here and not in the proper forum.

I was going to get the Epson 1080UB also, but now I've seen this Panasonic AE3000 come out and it supports cinemascope / 2.35:1 aspect ratios without an expensive lens - and now I'm sold on the panasonic.
That said, I don't need mine for another 12 months, so I'm going to hold off - who knows what will be out between now and then.

Be careful when you pick the Panny Ae3000, Its a good projector but doesn't come close to the blacks like the Epson 1080UB. Also the colors are a bit more yellowy...There's a thread in the "Projectors under $3000.00" that compares the Panny AE3000 and the Epson 1080UB. Which is where I should've started this thread...
Can any of the Mods move this thread over to the projectors forums?

This area has one full time mod., who can't review the threads everyday.
You should just start the same thread in the proper forum (for the quickest results).
PS: I would do it, but I don't have access to the mod. tools in this forum to make the switch.
