Hi all...new to the site, and I've searched the other related threads...some similarities, but didn't have the answer I needed. So, here's my question:

I bought a Magnavox ZC320MW8 (yes, the one that's under $100...what can I say....Dave Ramsey ran through my head) from a local Walmart. I installed everything exactly as the directions said to for recording a DVD from a VHS tape. I got the sound to record, but no picture.

Here's the connection schematic:
Audio and Video going in to TV from recorder.
Audio and Video going in to recorder from VCR.

Thanks a bunch for any help.

First I'd verify that the cable from your VCR to DVDR is good. The easiest method would be to plug it directly into your TV, bypass the DVDR. If that works then I'd check out the menu's in your DVDR. It's possible?? that you have to specify whether you're using S-video or composite input. I would think the default would be composite and if you're using composite I'd sure suspect the cable or maybe the video IN socket on your DVDR. You could also try the front video in jacks, if the DVDR has such inputs.

Thanks, jjeff...I'll try that.

Another thing: since you're able to record sound, your Video cable might be in a wrong output/input slot?

I was just wondering if you got it to work? I just purchased the same DVD recorder for my father for Christmas. If it doesn't record VHS to DVD I'll need to take it back.
