:eek: Really? Folks (myself included) have been saying that for well over a year. I havent launched Home in a couple of months (afrer the far cry room launch) and after being in the Beta for well over a year..Im pretty much done with it.

I haven't had the opportunity to try it - but why hasn't Sony just opened it up to everyone at this point? It's obviously not being met with the same anticipation as something like LBP was so why keep it such a secret?

It's up, but i have put off updating my firmware so i'm not back in to check out the Mall items yet. FYI, you'll need to download the newest Home version, 1.01 before you can get back in. It's 26MB.

I have been in the beta for a few weeks and I must say I was kinda impressed with what I saw, I dont know how much time I will actually spend in home..but it is pretty kool. I have played pool and bowled and I'm sure there will be more added.

How do you get $$$ to buy things from the HT store and mall..if they put some stores in the mall. Hopefully like all other malls there will be a victoria secret store for the female gamers:D

She's a big WoW and Rock Band player; not really sure what else she plays beyond that.

I agree she seems forced in Qore; same in Tekzilla. I thought the same thing about Mahalo, too. I think she just doesn't conduct interviews very well. Scripted stuff doesn't suit her. Check out old Buzz Out Loud episodes to see her at her best.

The Home theme, a year-long subscription to Qore, and going into your Account Settings and opting into recieving info and offers from Sony are all ways to increase your chances. This month's (free) issue of Qore will probably not help.

This month's Qore does not have an invitation to HOME.

Actually, that would've been smart. Crash Home now, force them to get the servers up to speed in time for Christmas. The first few days Home is open to the public, it's going to crash hard. You heard it here first.

New update, version 1.02 is available. Apparently it is just related to server maintenance. The new welcome message says that "an event" is planned for this week. Maybe they are about to throw in some new features? The open beta? Sony seems really confident about the launch, lately; I wonder if they've got something big up their sleeve.

There's going to be a lot going on here that I did not expect, like going up to one of those ad posters and being able to start downloading the demo for the game right then and there. Very cool. - The MotorStorm apartment, a premium customizable living space, is very different to the Harbour Studio and the Summer House that closed beta users have already seen. Based around the MotorStorm franchise, it's set on a cliff shelf, overlooking the MotorStorm festival, complete with an animated race taking place below. The Home developers we spoke to hadn't yet decided how it would be distributed, but suggested it might be a contest prize or
event-based item.

- The Events space, which has been around for a while now, reskinned for one of three upcoming events, which Sony promised us will be "coming shortly". The event demonstrated was a PSP-3000 treasure hunt, which asks Home users (Homers?) to find eight hidden numbers, strategically placed around the Events space. These numbers are plugged into an in-Home website and enter you into a prize draw for a real life PSP-3000. Everyone who takes part will get a free in-Home PSP-3000 cap.

Content shown in concept form:

- Buzz! space which includes a multiplayer minigame called the "Buzz! Runaround." The concept art showed a top-down view of the environment, which looks like a Buzz! controller. Questions are pumped through from MyBuzz! and players must stand on the correct colored button to rack up points. Everyone in the room can play the game simultaneously, which means up to 32 people can be running around this virtual Buzz! controller at a time. This will also have a leaderboard.

- MotorStorm space, complete with "MotorKartStorm" minigame and merchandise counter where you can buy such things as MotorStorm branded ripped festival jeans.

- In Resistance 2 space, the developers will be playing on the "Twisted History" aspect of the franchise by transforming the Home central plaza into a Chimeran-infested invasion site. There was also talk of a team-based minigame requiring people to fight back a horde of Chimera.

Other stuffs:

- The Trophy room, long assumed dead, has been placed on hold. Though Daniel Hill did assure us that 3D Trophies would happen in the future. Speaking of Trophies, it has been confirmed that Home will be able to read what Trophies you have and unlock content appropriately. Not only that, but Home will also be able to dish out its own Trophies, though there is no indication how those will work.

It's possible for future games to have this functionality built in, so that when you acquire a Trophy a message will pop up telling you what you've unlocked in Home. There's also the potential for in-game menus, taking you straight to a game's Home space.

- There are hopes to develop further PSN Store integration, such as being able to download a game's demo or downloadable content simply by approaching an in-Home advertisement.

- Cross-game invites are possible by pulling people through Home, thanks to the party system, though it won't be available immediately.

- Other updates, like bigger clubs, cross-Home game launching and extended profiles, are already planned.

I agree. They are not doing this correctly. Promising a bunch of stuff for the future isn't a way to kick off something like this. If you are underwhelmed tomorrow and they trickle in features in the future it isn't going to make anyone rush back and build start building a community.

hopefully they will keep aggressivly implementing new features. there seemed to be a bigger crowd of people when they put in the new echochrome and ice breaker games. As long as they keep adding new things that have lasting appeal, people will keep coming back.

If they want aggressive new content every week, they better look at hiring the guys from Harmonix and Criterion!

Testing complete and a couple of technical problems have been found.

Also, it appears that the Far Cry 2 and Uncharted spaces won't be available in the European beta today. Likewise the new Diesel and Ligne Roset stores, along with the Red Bull Air Race, won't be available til next week. The American beta should include all these things today.

Waiting to hear how long that might take..
