Here's a cool quiz... (http://www.sporcle.com/games/videogame_systems.php) I got 36/69 correct within the time limit. How many can you name without cheating? :)

I too scored 36. I can't believe I forgot about the Master System II, even though that would of only put me at 37. Fun quiz, thanks for sharing! Guess we are showing our age.

Maybe I'm going crazy but I was positive that Radio Shack released some kind of crappy CD console around the same time as the CDi and 3DO. I can't recall what brand-name it was but I remember seeing them running in their stores. I can't find a single mention of it anywhere.

^^^ I got those but missed the SMS 2, GameBoy Color and N64.

I agree... I thought I was spelling it wrong but it's not on the list. I guess it was always an add-on and never a system on its own. For the same reason I noticed that the Supercharger wasn't allowed for the Atari 2600.

I got 59 out of 69 but there are some that simply do not belong in there , I won't mention them here to keep from spoiling it for those that are yet to take the test but you'll see ;) .

Bad quiz. Some systems are there some are not. Some are not worth even
mentioning. GameBoy Color works but no GameBoy Advance/SP. But I scored
15.

Gameboy Advance is there. SP isn't really necessary, it's a hardware revision, not a whole new system. Game Boy Pocket isn't there either :p

28/69

I knew about 8 more but didn't remember them until they were revealed. I really wanted to nail that fricking Neo Geo Pocket, but kept thinking "Neo Geo Jr? Neo Geo Mini? Neo Geo Micro?"

Very awesome memory game. Didn't become a gamer until 1984(3 years old) with the Commodore 64 :)

There were definitely a couple missing from the list though...

But I also didn't realize it was including handhelds til quite late in the game...lol

Had no idea there were so many versions of some of those consoles. And, seriously, I've never heard of some of these things that were released in the past five years. Maybe I'm just bitter because I got less than half, but what are they counting as a console?

25-30 Geek.

30-40 Hans solo was your childhood hero.I can live with that. Stuck between a Geek and a Solo-lover.

Indiana Jones was my childhood hero, but at 36 points I'll be happy with Han Solo. :)

Like I said there are many things that don't really belong on that list , I only scored as high as I did because I guessed one that I figured should not really be on there and when it was I realized the list ventured off the path a bit ;) .

I've had almost everything with the exception of the Pioneer LaserActive.

Previously owned systems not shown in the pic include the Philips CD-i and Neo Geo.

Unfortunately I recently just got out of the collecting hobby and sold off everything :(

P.S.- I got 46 out of 69, so I salute you!

40-50 Level 40 Spellcaster.- Holy psychic rank structure of death, Batman. My WoW Character is a lvl 40 Mage! :)

Amiga CD32 wasn't a US release, although it was released in Canada (NTSC).

I loved mine. Backwards compatible with Sega Genesis controllers.

I totally remember a system in the early 90's that an older friend of mine owned that played nes, snes, and sega genesis games if I recall correctly. It came with adapters that you would put on the cartridges to fit into the system. He had told us he had bought it in chinatown (L.A.) it almost looked like a famicom but not as detailed, it was like a white and red color scheme though. Me and my cousin remember playing it with him and for the life of us never knew what the system was called or met anyone else who even has an idea of what we're even talking about.

Very fun! I got 33 out of 69.

I could not remember the name of the Pioneer system (Laservision) until it revealed all the names as I almost bought one. Instead I came across a great deal on a Pioneer LDV-4200 industrial laserdisc player that had an Rs-232 port on it that allowed it to communicate back and forth to a computer. I then found original laser disc's of Dragon's Lair, Space Ace, Dragon's Lair 2: Time Warp and a few other LD games. I went to local and non-local arcade machine vendors and they sold them to me dirt cheap as they weren't used anymore. With a friend's help (he wrote the basic program on an Amiga that controlled the player) I sat down and mapped out all the frame numbers for the Dragon's Lair and Space Ace games and made program's that ran the games exactly as they were meant to be played (except for the sound effect of the right or wrong move). They actually ran better than the originals as the LDV 4200 accessed the disc quicker than the orignal players that were used. I still kick myself to this day for selling it all. :(

Whoa sorry for that flash back. :D

Yeah, that came out this year or last. I remember some news stories about it.

Anyway, I got 38 out of 69. Not too bad, I'd say.

I got 38, which isn't too bad for never having played anything pre-NES, and I don't really do hand-helds.

Lots of fun, and yes there were some glaring omissions. Thanks for sharing that OP!
