I have a Panny 9UK 50" plasma that can only do 1:1 pixel mapping through DVI...I have one HDMI port and no DVI although I can buy a DVI "blade" for $100...I don't want to spend money if I can help it though so if I get the DVI blade I would want to sell my HDMI blade...I have a Directv box with HDMI and I want to add an HTPC which uses DVI...here is the question:
To obtain 1:1 pixel mapping using the DVI blade, can I run a DVI -> HDMI cable from HTPC to HDMI switch, have the Directv HDMI connection to the switch, and then use an HDMI -> DVI adapter to the DVI blade on the tv? All sound goes through my receiver so that doesn't matter...
Will the HDMI switch "lose" the 1:1 pixel mapping somehow?
