Car companies boasting "SAT" ready is a big waste. The cost of buying OEM Sirius module, harness and install is $700 over $1,000. Just put the darn thing in. People that just purchased a new car that have paid thousands don't want to pay $800+ out of pocket for a radio and pay for the service monthly. The technology is proven by portable radios the cost under 100 bucks. I just got a Starmate, custom install from BB for under $250. Not my ideal preference but my Mitsubishi dealer is quoting me about $900. No wonder Sirius is not profitable and car dealerships are going out of business. Just my 2 cents for what its worth.

Dealer installed automobile accessories overpriced? That's unheard of!

Not only that, the dealers themselves are morons. When I bought my 2007 Pilot, I saw the XM logo on the radio; I asked the salesman when he delivered it "why isn't it working", he says "oh it will come on automatically in the next 48 hours". Days later it never did, only to find out I have the "XM Ready" model that require the module upgrade. Since the next trim model that comes with full Sat/Nav was only $1,700 more, I would have got that instead; the salesman and dealer lost out on a bigger sale altogether, since there is no way I am paying $1,000 for a $99 module aftwerward. These idiots don't even understand what they are selling.
