First day on the forum, great stuff so far, I've gotten some good info.

I'm picking up my new Sammy pn50A650 today and I'm looking to order a new HDMI cable. By now I've read the plethora of opinions to save on hdmi cost and go with Monoprice or Blue Jeans b/c performance is the same.

So, now I'm comparing all the different Monoprice cables and I'm not quite sure which one to go with.

*I only need 6ft.
*Will not be doing any wall fishing in the foreseeable future, but maybe down the road.
*Will use one for my Dish HD DVR and one for my Panny 35 Blu-ray player.

Which version should I go with? 28AWG with ferrite, 24AWG, 24AWG with silver...etc.?

I just want the best performance possible.

Thanks!

BTW, I've already got a monster hdmi to DVI with a Dish Network-provided DVI-HDMI adapter (from 3 yrs ago before I knew better). Should I continue to use this one? Does the adapter reduce picture quality at all? I haven't noticed anything bad, but swear the colors became a little more saturated after the adapter was installed.

Any HDMI cable should work just fine at 6ft including the HDMI->DVI->Adapter rig you have now. Do a little more digging on HDMI and digital video signals and you'll see how it's impossible for the colors to become more saturated (and video still be recognizeable) when adding the adapter. :)

So, just keep the one I have and get any 'ol monoprice one?

No advantage to the silver coated one?

I'm leaning towards the 24AWG with silver for $14.36. I figure the 24AWG without ferrite will be easier to fit with other cables and bends and maybe less strain on connectors.
