My JVC HD-ILA (HD-52G886) gets no pic when I use an HDMI cable to the STB. The cable guy (Insight) came out and we tried different cable and another STB but no pic. I tried numerous settings in the set-up with no luck.

DVD player via HDMI works just fine? You could check in the HDTV Hardware section for posts/threads on the STB (Motorola, SA, etc).

Has the back of your JVC been removed for repair? Seems to me I remember reading about the digital input being disabled if the back of the set was removed. There was some way it had to be reset. Search the Rear Projection forums for info. You may have to go several years back.
