Samsung ht-tx72 surround sound system.

Watching dvd's the picture goes black for a flash or a few seconds sometimes. I have directv coming through the surround sound and have no issues while watching that. Why would my dvd lose picture but not sound?

Tv is a samsung 50a400 connected with all hdmi.
