I'm finally getting around to starting to work on converting my upstairs bedroom/game room into a dedicated theater. I've been reading over so many of these threads and would like to thank each and every one of you for sharing your experiences with us. Here is the layout of my room:

My current equipment is as follows:
Yamaha RX-V1700
DefTech BP2000tl Front L/R
DefTech C/L/R 2500 Center
DefTech BP-30 Rear L/R
Toshiba HD-XA1
PlayStation 3
Xbox 360 w/ HDMI
I'm really pleased with the sound that comes from my DefTech setup. My only complaint is I wish they put out more feel it in your chest bass, but I plan to rectify that in a new purchase. Sure eventually I want to add a new receiver, but don't we all want something new :)
I plan to add the following:
1080p 3LCD or LCoS/SXRD projector
Sub
Screen, unsure as to which one currently
New lighting, artwork, paint, etc.
I'm planning to put the screen on the wall on the top of the image. I mocked it up with the actual height of my BP2000tls and the biggest screen size I felt like I could get away with. As much as I want to go with a 2.35:1 screen, I think I'll get more screen size with a 16:9 screen.
We are still trying to decide on colors, I do plan to paint the screen wall Mouse Ears black, that seems to be a popular choice around here and every picture I've seen of it here looked great, like LandShark1's theater (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=982083).
Currently the only light in the room is a ceiling fan mounted light. I'm looking for some sconces to place along the walls and plan to replace the ceiling fan with a more low profile one that does not have a light. I'm also going to explore placing some halo lights along the top and by the screen wall.
The thing that I'm struggling with right now is what to do about the 4x8 windowed section that sticks out. One thing that you cannot tell in the design is that you have to step up into by about 2'6", I'll post pics tonight so you can get a better understanding. I was thinking about lining the two 8ft sides with custom media storage, plan to block the window using blinds and blackout curtains. Any ideas on how to make it not turn into an audio black hole would much appreciated.
I look forward to working on this project and hearing everyone's input.
