Hello everyone. Thanks for taking a few minutes to help! I am finally stepping into the surround world and need some opinions. I have been doing a lot of research and have decided to go with the following: Denon AVR-1909 or 988, Polk Audio Monitor 70 for front, Polk Audio CS2 for center, and Polk Audio Monitor 60 for rear. I'm not sure about the rear or sub yet. I think the 60's might be overkill since this will be in a secondary bedroom (average size). Any help is greatly appreciated. Update: now going with the Polk Audio CSi 3 for center.

Is this for a dedicated HT room?

Yes. this will be my "man room".
I could be mistaken but I think the question intended to ask if you are planning a Theater in the Home experience with a screen and projector or if you are planning to watch television.
I am amazed at how many of us always buy into what the ads and sales weasels tell us. When online at a site like circuitcity when I click on "home theater" link I am taken to a list of audio surround sound systems, speakers and etc.. The propaganda is that if you somehow add external speakers to a little television that somehow you will achieve a theater experience which is totally false.
HT simply defined (according to everyone we know) is the creation in one's home a visual experience near to that achieved in a Commercial Theater - no television on the consumer market today can give the viewer Home Theater.
Man Room, Woman Room, Game Room, Media Room, Living Room, Whatever you name the space doesn't define the experience you are trying to achieve.
Okeedokee - sorry to waste the space if you interest is just simple surround sound audio to accessorize a l'il tv and sorry to get preachy on a weekend - probably got up too early with too much coffee - I never intend any offense.
Of course "man room" means so many different things to different people - If I had the space in my marriage and home for a "Man Room" LOL it would have a big bar and pinball machines and a foosball table and that kind of stuff and maybe a larger model tv - 56in or so - for watching sports and movies with the lights on with a group of family or friends - WHOOPS!! That describes back half of our game/theater area.
But when it's Theater Experience time you just gotta lower the lights and fire up a Theater Sized screen so everyone will say, "WOW, this is just like being at the movies!!"
Even then, the room would be called our Home Game and Theater Room.
No criticism intended in any way and please enjoy you "Man" space with whatever setup makes you happy- if can configure things to include Home Theater you won't be sorry!!
