I hope I am in the right place for this nu-b question.
I live in Canada, and am getting fiber-to-the home (fiber optic) TV, phone and internet installed (woo hoo). I am hopeful, that I will be getting an HD TV soon (prices are dropping and dropping..sheesh).
My question is, that I will get a standard set top box from the provider (thats ok for now). They also offer a HD DVR receiver for about $18/month.
Is there a better one to get than the offered Wegener (not sure of model #).
From what I gather the input into the set top box will be a CAT 5 RJ45 cable (not a COAX input)
Any suggestions on aftermarket boxes??:confused:

Due to the proprietary nature of an IPTV network, it's very, very unlikely you could use any other STB than the one offered by the provider. Ask them.
