I just recently Purchased a new "PC HPm9428f" it comes with an HDMI slot, i want to hook it up to the back of my HD TV o nthe TV i have a

SHARP-GP1U 37 inch

my question is i went to mono price and they have a ton of HDMI cables i dont know what to choose from sliver plated , gold plated , tin plated , and then theres 22awg , 24awg....i wish i knew my stuff so i can pick one, i just need one to deliver the highest HD signal possible like for say 1080P from my computer to my TV..something high end.

i dont know much but i think the Gold plated ones are the best and also if im connecting it from a PC to a TV that i should get a Flat HDMI cable...correct me if im wrong. thanks.

How long a cable do you need?

Well, theoretically, tin-plated are the best. The inputs on the back of your TV are made of tin, and so therefore a tin to tin connection would be preferred. The reason gold is used is because of its resistance to corrosion.

Depending on the distance, 28 AWG is just fine. No need to go any thicker unless you are going longer than 12 feet. 22 AWG is stiff as all hell, and very impractical for a short run. Damn thing is hard to position where you want it.

For 25 feet I'd get the 22 gauge or if you needed it to be flat(for going under carpet etc.) then the 24 gauge flat should be fine. CL2 rated means the jacket won't give off toxic fumes in a fire, I think all their longer cables are CL2 rated for in wall installation, this also makes them much less flexible.
The 24 gauge CL2 gold end cable for $21.57 would be a good economical choice.
The 22 gauge CL2 gold end cable is $36.86 and is as mentioned quite stiff and may be a overkill for 25 feet.
HDMI 1.3a I believe is the newest revision for HDMI cables.
Truthfully I've had very good luck with all my Monoprice cables even the shorter length 28 gauge gold plated ones.

thanks jeff, doest it really make a noticable diffrence if its HDMI 1.3 ??

because i have a 6 f.t HDMI cable from my PS3 to my tv that i might replace.

also is threre a reduction in video quality between the flat HDMI cable and the 22 AWG ??

No, there is no video quality reduction. The only reason you should use 22 AWG is if you are having a very long run of cable.

I'd agree with Skeelo58. For 25 feet 24 gauge should be just fine. AFA the 1.3 this is what Monoprice says about there 1.3 cables:

"The latest revision for HDMI doubles the bandwidth of the original and has opened the door for a host of potential new advancements in Home Theater Audio/Video performance. New features such a “Deep Color,” higher color gamut, and high resolution, multi-channel audio formats like Dolby True HD and DTS-HD Master Audio will make higher bandwidth demands than ever before. Equipment manufacturers are bringing out new devices to take advantage of these new features.

Be ready for what the future has in store with our Monoprice HDMI 1.3a cables. These cables have been designed to meet the high bandwidth performance standards set by HDMI 1.3a. Monoprice cables are constructed to the highest quality with full triple layer shielding from end to end, strong, solid wire welds and the highest quality materials including high purity copper, gold plated connectors and tin plated conduits."

I don't have a "Deep Color" device but I've stuck with 1.3 cables anyway, and for the price that Monoprice sells them for I don't know why someone wouldn't want to. Even there flat cables are 1.3 rated.
