Hello all. Been awhile since I visited the forum, but I have an issue my my TV that I'm hoping some knowledgeable folks or maybe even a technician can help me with.
I have a Hitachi LCD RPTV model 60V715 that I've owned for just over four years and am still using the original lamp. It's on for several hours every day so I'm really surprised the lamp is still working.
Anyhow, my the problem is discoloration for a large portion of the middle of the screen. For example; I was watching a football game last night and one of the teams uniforms were blue. Two players from the same team standing side by side and the one who was displayed on the outer portion of the screen had a nice blue uniform, but his teammate who was closer to the middle had a greenish or turquoise tint to his uniform. Kind of like there is a big yellow cast over the majority of the screen clearing up toward the outer edges.
I have a test disk and with the color tinted glasses provided to set the red, green and blues and I can set the red and green just fine, but I can't see the test bars for the blues.
The problem is there regardless of input and cannot be adjusted out. The set seems to be plenty bright, although certainly not as bright as it was new.
Can an old lamp cause color abnormalities or do you think I have a more serious issue?
Any advise/assistance is greatly appreciated.
