I have been using the cm 4228. Soon, i will move it to my son's house. So, i bought the new 4228hd. Just installed it today, using the same mast. I could not see any difference in signal strength on any of the channels I can receive. I am about 60 miles from the antenna farm and use a preamp. I consistently get about 6-7 bars strength. I am southwest of Tyler, Tx.

I think the biggest concern was durability with the new ones, how does the construction look? Good to know the reception is the same, thanks for the info.

How does it perform for analog 8, 11 & 13 as well as WFAA-DT 9 compared to the old 4228?

This is about what I figured. I'm glad to see it's still a good performing antenna. I got one of the last 4228a models and I'm glad I did. Anxious to see hdtvprimer's specs on the 4228hd when it becomes available.
