I have a simple question I need answered before I replace my old receiver with a new Onkyo 706.I'm going to run the HD cable box into the 706 via HDMI and out to the TV.Do I need to make any settings changes in the cable box itself,not the receiver?

Right now,I have the cable box plugged directly into the TV via HDMI.I was never in the cable box's settings menu before and frankly don't even know how to get to them! :confused: It's a Motorola DCH3200 if that helps.

No changes needed on the box, may want to research if the box will work with that receiver, there are some that won't work correctly with AV receivers when they act as HDMI repeaters.

You will just have to go into your 706's setup menu, and determine which label (cab/sat, etc) will be used for HDMI. Pretty simple
