I have a Toshiba 62MX196 that is 2 yrs old. I bought a 5yr extended warranty thru the retailer (HH) I purchased it at. The warranty is thru GE Warranty and the retailer no longer offers EW's thru them due to past problems. I have been waiting 10 weeks for repair and GE has stalled and had 2 different techs assigned, but no parts ordered and nothing fixed yet.

Went to the local store where I had purchased it at the other day with a 2 page documented letter explaining what has happened with my conversations with them. I spoke with manager, he read letter and was talking about a procedure their company uses in situations like this to make it right for the customer. He is talking about replacing the tv, due to my aggravation and time wasted waiting for repairs. He will be calling me back tomorrow with an answer on how it will be handled. I don't know exactly what they will offer, but would like some suggestions from you guys on what to replace it with. The tv was around $2500 at my time of purchase. I don't know if they will offer another DLP or give me my choice.

I would like something in the 50"-62" range, 1080p, with on screen TV-Guide and PIP. I have been considering a Samsung LED DLP like the HL61A750/61. I have also considered an LCD model, but not sure which one. Can you guys give me some feedback based on what I am looking for so I can make an educated trade? Thanks in advance.

Honestly, I can't complain about the bulb. I bought tv in November 2006, have used at least average of 10 hours a day, and is still on original bulb. The light engines on this model were totally redesigned and that's the only reason I took it, knowing of the problems with earlier models. My problem has been that the QAM tuner has went out and they have had problems finding a local tech. As for the Mitsubishi, consider it carefully. From what I understand, they have a higher than normal failure rate.
