Hi all,

I have had this projector for about 10 months and never had a problem.
However, in the last few weeks I have noticed that the image takes longer in appearing when I turn it on. The 'standby' led flashes (green) for a while (about 30 seconds) before the image appears. The thing is I never worried about that and I thought it could be normal.

The problem is now is taking longer and longer, and sometimes the image never shows up. The 'standby' led stops flashing and after that the LAMP led flashes red. After a while, it becomes solid red.

After turning it on and off a few times it will end up working.

I have also noticed that usually when I got it to work and I have been using it for a while, if I turn it off and I turn it on again like 10 or 15 minutes later, it usually works fine.

What's going on? My lamp is only 600 hours.
Is my projector defective?

Thanks a lot

Have you reseated your lamp?

Also: What do you have the PJ plugged into for power? If it is a UPS or power strip, plug it directly into a good outlet and see what happens.

reconlabtech,

Thanks for your reply.

Do you mean if I have reset the lamp timer?
If you do... no, I have never reset that. Actually my projector is only 10 months old.

I'm not using a UPS either. It's connected directly to the outlet.

No, I mean PULL OUT the lamp and reinsert it back into the PJ.

Try a different outlet not on the same circuit breaker.

Ok, I'll try both things.
I'll post here any results.

Thanks

ThanksSometimes the contacts can get screwy from all the heating and cooling. In a few instances, the contacts on the lamp need cleaning. I'd think that would be rare, but you never know.

I had the exact same problems with my AE500. I took 3-4 tries before turn on sometime. That was around 800 hours. But it was working fine once it was powered on (well the lamp was flickering but i used Low Lamp with was less apparent)

How did you fix it? Do you think it was a problem with the lamp?
