Hi i just got my Pioneer Kuro elite 111fd and im curious if what i received is a Brand new TV or one that was used or displayed. it definitely looks brand new "no scratches or anything like that" but it is possible that it looks brand new and has been working in a display room for some time.. Is there a way to be sure what i received is new? and also because i plan on breaking it in how do you keep track of the hours you have used it? Does this Tv come with some sort of protective film on the screen you have to remove? Because mine didn't and if it should i can probally tell from something like that if its new or not.

Was everything that came out of the box sealed such as the light sensor and the remote and the manual? I'm sure it is new. There is no protective film on the screen you have to remove. I highly doubt you received a display model. In order to check the hours you have to access the service menu. As for keeping track of break in hours just keep track in your head, it isn't that hard.

Yes everything was sealed and look fine. i bought it for a good price so that always comes with a little suspicion. And it will be a lot easier keeping track of the hours if i was the only person using it.

Oh and about the service menu.. How do you acces this? Im aware that in other tvs if you access this the guarantee will no long be valid.

If everything was sealed you are probably fine.

It sounds very much new to me. The bezel and stand are ultra gloss, and any handling of this will leave prints, and likely small fine scratches to remove the prints. I was so carefull on assembly, but a quick lay down of the stand while unpacking onto even carpet made a fine scratch.
Nobody could have assembled it, used it, taken it apart, rebagged it, and had no signs of fine scratches.

I think im gonna have to look in the service menu how many hours the tv has. i dont care if it voids the warranty. How do i access the service menu?

the 50" has stand on, the 60" is off.
Their is no free way (no code) to acess the 9th generation pioneers. it has to be done with a rs controler

Lumi, if you bought your TV from an "Elite Authorized" dealer, then I'd guess that almost certainly the TV is new. I'd also agree with everyone else that if all the plastic sticky wrapping things are still on, then you are probably ok.
