I am having an outlet put on my basement ceiling for a future AX200u. While i have plenty of space and I think I am going to have a 92" screen, I am having some uncertainty on how far back to place the outlet. What is recommended for a outlet since i can have it infront, overhead or behind where I will be sitting. My concerns are noise and since I have a Wii, the kids and I would have to stand up to play and do not want to have the image hit us.
Any thoughts?

DO NOT mount the outlet until you are absolutely certain on the projector and screen size. When you are certain on both, I would mount it roughly in the middle of the projector's throw range, and slightly off center or to the rear(wherever the cables come out of projector).

I don't understand that answer. I'm currently building a house with a media room, and I'm wondering about this question, too. I won't have or decide on a specific projector until we've got the house built this spring; we just can't afford any extra costs while building. But I want to make sure I run cables and put an electrical outlet in the right place on the ceiling. The room is 17 feet deep with a 10 foot ceiling, and I'm guessing we'll sit 11 to 12 feet away from the screen. Where should I put the electrical outlet and the spot for a pj mount?
I'm building a 18x11 room and I put my outlets about 15ft back and about 1.5ft off center. Put the outlets on the side opposite of the room of the door so they aren't too noticeable.
Still not sure of what pj and screen size i want but ive narrowed it down to 100-120ish screen with a mitsu 5500/6500, panasonic ae 3000 or maybe an optoma hd80.
I think I set my outlets a bit fartther back than most people might have but the cables come out a good 3-4feet so i can mount the pj between 11 and 18 feet throw distance.
I think even if you are set on the ax200 you should look into some similar pjs and use a projector calculator to get some rough range and plan your outlets based on that.

Idahoguy -- It is rather straight forward. PJs vary in throw distance from the screen (the distance between the front of the lens and the screen), and that distance depends on the size of the screen.
For a 16:9 (1.78:1) 100" diagonal screen, this throw distance can be anywhere from 10' to 26', depending on the projector model. So specifying where the outlet should be is a real crap shoot, if you don't have any idea of what PJ you will/might be getting.
In your case (with a 17' long room) your best guess would be to put the outlet somewhere between the 12' and the 17' distance from your proposed screen wall. However, you still could be 2' to 3' from the eventual location of the PJ. And with some PJ models, you could actually mount the PJ on the back wall.
This is the reason for Jim McC's post. The bottom line is that you just don't know where the PJ will go until you decide on the one you will be getting and what size screen you will be using.
PS -- For most PJs, all of the cables come out of the back of the unit. So the cable access should be behind the PJ mounting.

I just wanted to thank you for the advice. I'm thinking a 92-inch screen is likely. Maybe 100, but probably 92. I think I'll put the electrical outlet at 13 feet, just off of center. I hope that's reasonable.

I'd still scoot it back a foot or so, like others posted, better to bring power from behind projector than in front or the side. Also, why sit 11 to 12 ft in 18 foot deep room, why not move seat back further and go big on screen.

If you are building out...why not just put two outlets on the ceiling spanning all possibilities. Save the headache later when you decide...
