So I just spent $2000 on new audio equipment! My original budget was $800

Anyway - its been about 3 months since I started ordering all of this, and my sub is showing up tomorrow (according to fedex tracking #).

SO - I decided to start setting everything up tonight and ran into a problem - I don't know how to organize this room to make everything work!!! I mocked the TV and front L&R speakers up and found out that the left speaker gets cut off a bit by a end table and end of a couch (see pictures)

I really can't get rid of any of the furniture as I frequently have lots of family coming over and need the seating room. But I am open to suggestions on possibly rearranging to get more of a home theatre setup??? I like the chairs near the fire as it gets COLD up here and those chairs are rather comfy! I usually lounge in them while I watch the tube.

LIST OF EQUIPMENT:

Sony 56" Flatscreen (LCD)
Polk Monitor 70's (front)
Polk CS2 (center)
Polk Monitor 40's (rear)
SVS PC12-NSD (subwoofer)

The seat next to that wood burner must be so ridiculously hot it is unreal.

Corner setups are tough in my mind, you want to spread your fronts a little but you have that window or door that you would go right in the way of, so that doesnt work well.

If you are worried about the front left being blocked you could always get smaller mains and raise it up or mount it on the wall similar to your rears.

Yeah...corner placement is the worst and your towers are much to close together to appreciate a soundstage of any kind. I'd move the TV to the left in front of the window and relocate that sofa. Spead those Polks about 6ft apart and place the sub between either tower and the TV. It's a great space but waaay to much stuff in there. I'd replace 1 sofa with a rollway futon that could be brought in when guests arrive and opened if the stay the night.

That is one tough room from the looks of the photos. I agree that corner placements are almost always a bad idea. Can you move the TV to where your desk is next to the stairs? That might also let you put surround speakers out of the way in the room.
