Due to width space constraints, I am looking at putting the left, center, and right speaker behind a screen which is audio translucent. Some feel the sound can be compromised as well as the video with a projector with such a screen.

I assume a perforated or audio translucent screen is also more expensive so that is another negative.

I am considering placing the speakers under the screen and concealed with a grill cloth material. I cannot use towers and am having difficulty finding a good speaker which is not too tall, say 12-15 inches high. Klipsch makes a THX speaker which is square but the price is prohibitive. Any other decent speaker choices that are not too tall?

The room will be about 11 feet wide and 25 feet deep with a 110 or greater screen size.

Any thoughts?

Not if you DIY. cost would be less than $300.

Here is the fabric originally used by SMX (he now has a custom version) and is currently used by SeymourAV.

Any thoughts?Well, any decent speakers placed so low to the floor will suck.

I would DIY an acoustically transparent screen before I would put speakers hard against the floor. In theory, it might be possible to design speakers specifically to be mounted adjacent to the floor, but in practice I have never seen any. Putting a speaker designed to be mounted at ear level adjacent to the floor would introduce all sorts of boundary interactions that the designer didn't intend or allow for.

Besides which, many AVS members report excellent audio and video quality with acoustically transparent screen material. Do some research over on the screen forum and I think you'll see what I mean.
