Not sure exactly where to start; I posted and followed the TVGOS problems with Direct TV and my Panasonic DVR; however; this weekend it seemed as if what could go wrong went wrong. The DVD in the Panasonic no longer works, and I now need to continually need to reset the old DTV box; since it appears that I have a major repair on the Panasonic DVR, and I probably need to call DTV to see if they will upgrade my 5 year old receivers. What do you recommend.
BTW - please forgive me; but I do not see HD in the future since all of my TV's are less than 6 years old; and on a fixed income I do not have a lot of cash to spend.
Thanks
When you say "the Panasonic no longer works" what exactly do you mean? and why are you having to "continually reset" your Direct TV STB?

We will need a lot more specific information to help much. The make and model of each of the components, and exactly how they are connected wold help. Describe the malfuntion in your EH75, and the issues with the DVR.

On the Panasonic, the DVD no longers works at all, it shows that there is a DVD in the tray and it is empty; it tried to write a DVD and I received an U88 message; I turned the unit off; did a hard reset; I thought a few unplesantries and plugged it back it; I received the same information; the hard drive is making some very loud noises and then shows U88 and stops.
As to the Direct TV receiver (RCA); I get a message that the card is no good, I remove the card and reinsert it, and everything is ok for a few hours, I then either lose the channels and/or get the message about the card. BTW - the other receiver (Direct TV) have works fine. I did switch them, and the the same problem occurs. However, long term the RCA is the only one I can get to work with the Panasonic for TVGOS.
As to models the RCA is drd435-rh, the Direct TV one is D10
AFA your EH-75, unless someone else knows more I'd say you'll probably end up needing to send it in to Elk Grove Ill. for repair. For $130 Panasonic will repair and return your DVDR. This includes parts and labor. Note you may have to specifically request the $130 flat rate service. Parts and labor is sure to cost much more.
I'm not familiar with Direct STBs but it sure sounds like a bad STB to me.
