I recently got FIOS TV/ Internet and have had no end of issue with the tv service. The picture drops out when using VOD and sometimes by simply changing the channel. Numerous calls and visits by a technician has not solved this problem.

In my most recent call, I was informed this was a software issue with the box, however, that engineering was working on it but had no timeframe for resolving it.

Has anyone else had issues with picture/audio drop out with Fios? I previouslay had Cablevision and had no issues using the exact same equiptment.

I have the motorola Home Media DVR, forgot the exact model number.

Love to hear other people's experience..

Thanks.

Go browse the FIOS HDTV recorder thread or the FIOS install thread.

You might want to check the FIOS thread in HD Programming. You probably have the Motorola 6416 model, maybe one in the 700's.

Most people who have picture or audio problems using FIOS have a signal that's too hot for the box. I would have a technician come out to deal with the issue. They can measure the signal strength, maybe tune it so you don't have these issues; they can replace the box if that's a problem.

You should be having no problems at all, so get them out there and get it cleared up. It is the best service available IMO; I had a technician out to fix an HD DVR problem two days after installing it and have never needed another tech visit (going on two years of service now).
