Hello,
I have a 1080i Panasonic PT-61HX40. My picture is stretched on Component 1 (where I have my cable) and Component 2 (where I have my Playstation3). Yesterday, even Tony Siragusa looked skinny when I was watching football. The picture is pretty sharp, but it's not proportionate. I'd like to mimic a 16:9 ratio as best I can. The television remote has an "Aspect" button, but it doesn't do anything when I press it. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Bob

Is this a new problem? If you change to the tuner input and press the aspect button, does it work? Because, some Tv's don't allow aspect ratio control when the signal is HD. So it must be done in the source component.

Nope, it's not a new problem, but I finally am fed up with it enough to try to do something about it.
I think I did what you asked, by putting the channel of the tv on "4" instead of Component 1, but the "Aspect" still didn't do anything when pressed.

Broken remote/button? May require you push it multiple times in a row to make it cycle to the next ratio (pushing it once may just display the current ratio).

Unfortunately, that's not it either. I've pushed that thing a bunch now, and then pushed it when I was right in front of the television as well. That didn't work. I saw something in the manual about "convergence". I'm not sure what it is, but it seems to indicate that I can move the picture around. I may try that.
