My DirecTV+HDDVR is (HDMI) connected to my new Sony STR-DG720 receiver connected to my Pioneer PDP-5071HD via HDMI. 2 questions related this configuration:
1. Like many, I don't always want to run in surround so I set the Audio to AMP+TV so it would send both signals. It works but there is a slight delay in audio. I assume this is caused by the TV processing the signal but how can I stop this? Do I have to mute one or the other depending on if I want surround on/off?
2. I thought I read in a forum post that the DG720 will "pass-through" the HDMI input signals to the HDMI output. I had hoped that this would occur even when the receiver was off. I don't see that to be the case. Is that a configuration or is the answer: "Of course it doesn't work when its off!".
Thanks for helping the new guy.
