I have a Marantz VP-12S4 which has two HDMI inputs, but the projector will only accept 1080p/24 over RBG. The HDFURY has HDCP and can convert HDMI to RGB. I am trying to decide if this would be worth it to get the projector to accept 1080p/24. For source I am using a PS3. Anybody doing this with their projector? Probably not worth it, but I thought that I would ask if anybody is using the Fury with a digital projector to get 1080p/24.

mjg: can't help you, but since you labeled the threat "HDFURY2 Owners," I thought I'd add some input here....

I bought 2 HDFURY2's (Special Edition) with the intent of attaching each to the output of a 4x2 HDMI Matrix. One of the FURYs feeds my component display while the other feeds my Hauppauge 1212 PVR.

I have to sheepishly admit that I ASS-U-ME-D that when they said the audio out was TOSLINK or analog that the TOSLINK interface would do a pass-through of Dobly Digital 5.1 using the TOSLINK bit for special formats. Unfortunately, this is not true... it appears the device will not do a passthrough for some reason, so the only audio out is stereo, even on TOSLINK.

I am checking with CurtPalme.com to confirm what I'm seeing, but I'm not holding my breath as the question has been asked and answered on his forum: Stereo only.

Why they would do such a GREAT job with the video but then miss the opportunity to do a DD 5.1 pass-through baffles me. This defeats the ability to use HDMI for signal distribution. Now I have to add a 4x2 TOSLINK matrix switch with TOSLINKs all through the chain!
