edit: I NEED COMPONENT OUT! OOPS!

I looked, searched, and searched again. I am not in the city - 20 miles away but I do have a good winegard attic antenna.

We have no display except for the projector and receiver which is composite video based so I need composite output from the reciever.

The winegard RC101 looked good until I found bad reviews. Plus its not cheap.

Soooooooo any suggestions that could save me a bunch of time?

You can't watch HD with a composite video connection. Do you mean component video?

thanks ken, oops! i just corrected the thread but couldnt fix the subject line.

yes thats what I need and that other threads was for those coupon coverter boxes and I need a true reciever recommendation which can grab OTA HD and send it to my HT system. component out, and some kind of dolby audio out.

is that also a thread for info on those type receivers too?

thanks

This is a good one to start with - http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=179095

The Samsung DTB-H260F is a very popular box that will do what you want.

As for the thread topic, see if you can edit via the thread tools at the top of the thread, not 100% sure if that can be done here.

You might want to consider the DTVPal dvr from dish network. It is a dual tuner dvr for recording OTA HD programming. http://www.dtvpal.com/

Basically any box in this thread will have component outputs. Note some are cable boxes, you'll want one to say ATSC. You're not really going to find one priced lower than ~$100.

Found this one:

Centronics ZAT502 HD $70 ATSC, Clear QAM

Just a matter of checking reviews on it.

Purchasing an ATSC tuner is one good option, though, don't overlook the value of dvr. I never thought I would get one and didn't originally think it was worth the added cost. Man, I can't live without one now! Same for my wife. Good luck with whatever you decide.
