I live in a highrise condo.

All the jacks have conduits that go to a central location. I run cat5e easily this way.

I'd like to have my HTPC elsewhere. So then I can run a DVI cable from there to my TV, and the TV will standalone, and the keyboard controls it wirelessly.

The problem : DVI connectors. They're too big. I don't suppose they sell DVI connectors so you can make your own ends? I could only run the DVI cable itself, there's definitely no room for a huge DVI head!

Going through the walls is not pratical unfortunately.

The only thing I can think of otherwise, is *maybe* I could fish HDMI and use some adapters. But even then it could be very tight.

search for "rapidrun"

It a system where you snap on DVI or HDMI cable ends to a cable what has an end not much bigger than the cable.

Thanks guys, Rapidrun is exactly what I was thinking.

Now the price leaves muuuch to be desired! I could run DVI over CAT5 for almost the same price I think :|

The nice thing is it doesn't really matter since I can always mull it over and run the cable at a later date.

Skip rapidrun since it is pricy. As someone else said, just run an HDMI cable and use a changer on the end where the computer is. The video display spec carried inside of HDMI essentially is DVI so it will work fine.

HDMI plugs aren't all that big and should fit in conduit i'd hope...
