got a new set of energy c-50's today. and im still waiting on other speakers and reciever. i was thinking about breakin them in with my jvc bookshelf system i have sitting in my basement. there isnt any way that could hurt them using that jvc system could it?

Over-driving speakers with a low-power amp will definitely hurt them. Keep it down and they should be fine.
