Hello,

I have a ~4yr old Samsung HLP5085W, works as well now as it did when I bought it. Haven't had any issues, nor have I replaced the lamp yet. I am mulling over upgrading it, but need some help from the experts here in AVS. I would like input on whether I should go with another newer DLP, or move to plasma, or simply wait until something better comes around the corner.

What prompted me to think about upgrading is that I upgraded my DISH service to HD, and I also play quite a bit of xbox, and we watch lots of movies a well. The TV room is quite large, so we can sit far away. There is a bank of windows to the right of the TV, but they have internal blinds so that's not an issue. My DISH DVR is connected via HDMI, but there is only one port so for now my XBOX 360 is connected via Component.

Therefore, my main question is whether or not it's worthwhile to spend the money in order to obtain (i) a newer TV with better specs and (ii) have 1080p for TV and Xbox360.

For new TVs, I've mainly been looking at the Mitsubishi's available at Costco, and also the following plasmas: Vizio VP505XVT , and Panasonic TH-50PZ800U, both courtesy of the forums here. Any input is greatly appreciated.

Finally, if anyone could advise me what a fair price would be to list my Samsung on craigslist for, that would be helpful. I see figures of $1k and less on the web, but there's not much to go on.

Thanks in advance
