Hello all great forums!!! I just have one question and I hope this is where to post it.

I have a DCH6416 from my old cable company. Long story short I moved and couldnt find the box so I thought it was lost. I had to pay the cable company for the box so its essentially mine now.

Where I moved to there isnt any cable now and I really didnt want to go with satellite (at least not yet). So my question is there anyway I can use this box as a tuner? My current tv is a Westinghouse 37" 1080p monitor. So it doesnt have any tuners in it. So I was trying to figure out how to use that cable box as a tuner to plug into my antenna on the roof. Right now when I turn the box on I just get a blank screen. I'm assuming its crippled because it cant download the guide or info from the cable company.

So my question is there anyway I can use this box as a tuner? No. No US cableco will activate a unit they do not provide.

Your best option is to see if the old cableco will let you sell it back to them.
