I bought this samsung LCD hdtv 1080p, but I have a problem.
It turned on and off by itself, so I couldn't watch tv. Samsung technician came and changed the mother board, and the tv works fine.....but...
The screen is all hazy....No matter how I set up the color contrast or all the setting...the screen is hazy. I tried with 6 different dvds to get the right screen, but I don't think it's the set up. I think it's actual the screen.
The black screen looks bright gray....
Can anyone tell me what is wrong with the tv? Can actual mother board affect the screen???
Thank you

Post this in the LCD flat screen section for this TV.

There are service mode settings (such as white balance, option bytes [specific panel settings], etc) that are stored on the main board. These settings must be downloaded from the failed board and uploaded to the replacement. If the board is too far gone, then these settings must be manually entered / adjusted by the technician. It is also possible the part he installed is bad.
Either way, another service call will be needed. So call Samsung or the service company directly.

Thank you for the input! So have you had an experience like me? You seemed like know this stuff. Basically, I called the samsung center, and the supervisor said that if a tech guy visit again, and nothing is wrong, I have to pay $150!!!!! I just want to make sure the procedure you describe above is the correct before I call again and ask the tech guy to visit again.
He didn't download or set up anything. He just replaced the board, and left.

I went to block buster and saw SONY bravia with blue ray.....my samsung tv can't even compare with the picture quality. I was so shocked that how clear and bright it was.
So....how much big difference can I expect between hd and blue ray??
I got a HDMI cable, and the picture.....wasn't that great. I wasn't impressive at all....everything was still dim and hazy...
I am waiting for ps3 to arrive, and I will check the blue ray....but if there is not so big difference between blue ray and HD, I will just call the tech guy to fix the TV...

It sounds like the TV has a problem. I have a PS3 and the picture quality is better than HD cable from Time Warner but not much. The HD picture should not be hazy at all.

If your on screen menus look bad too, then it's either settings (ones you don't have access to) or a hardware issue.
Call back the service center and let them know that you are not happy with the picture quality (from any source) since the last service. If you get stonewalled, call Samsung support and explain exactly how it all unfolded.
