Hey guys. I have had my HC1500 for about 5 months now. Best purchase I've made. Looking at the intake grill tonight I saw some dust build up. I wanted to know if it would be ok to run a vacum at low speed to pull some of the dust from the grills OR can I clean the unit/send it out for cleaning to Mitsu? I have about 2100 hours on my bulb (yes I have been using this thing) and I want to get a new bulb. I want to buy the retail bulb instead of an OEM one, what is the best place online to get replacement bulbs? And my last question ties into the first. When I turn on the projector and it is displaying black, I can see roundish white circles in different areas of the screen. I can't see these at all when a black screen is on in a movie but what are these? I have never seen them before. Thank you guys for the help I appreciate it.

jarablue -- Cleaning - yes you can vacuum the grills. However, you might want to pull the lamp assembly (after it has cooled off for a couple of hours) out and do a more thorough cleaning (vacuuming).

You can certainly send it in for cleaning, but you should try (carefully) to try cleaning it yourself first.

Those "white circles" are probably dust somewhere inside the PJ.

You might want to post your question in the HC1500 thread, if you haven't already. I don't own a HC1500, but my old DLP PJ had a sealed light engine and I've cleaned it, with the lamp removed, by vacuuming and also using short, carefully aimed, bursts from a can of "Dry Air" - that I got for cleaning dust out of PCs.

No suggestions on a replacement lamp. BTW, there is no difference between "retail" and OEM lamps - they all come from the same source.
