Hey,

So I bought a HDTV (Sharp LC37d62u) 2 weeks ago. Now i want to connect it to my PC (OS: XP / GPU: XFX Geforce 7950 GX2 XXX Edition), so i bought a 16ft DVI to HDMI cable. I must say im not satisfied with the quality im getting on my HDTV. Its all blurry and stuff, cant see the taskbar and clock. Went into the NVIDIA control panel, put the resolution on 1920X1080 and the signal @ 1080P...quality of the screen still sucks! Tested Counter Strike Source and noticed that i cant see the whole radar and the names of people that got killed. Need help guys, really want some crispy overhere!

Thanks,

Warren.

You need to set the display to 1:1 pixel mapping, which I believe Sharp calls Dot By Dot.

Read your TV users guide to get the details for eliminating overscan(automatic zoom in by the TV over DVI/HDMI interface) with the dot by dot setting.
Also make sure that your PC desktop resolution is set to 1920x1080 to eliminate it being scaled between your PC and your TV which would cause blurry images othewise.

Have put it on dot by dot and set my desktop res. to 1920X1080. Still not working/blurry

Are the edges still being cut off?

Have you tried sending 1080i/60 instead of 1080p/60?

I am not sure with your graphics card and drivers.
You should have an option in the control center to show all modes and one of them should be 1080i. 1080p/60 is not a standard Nvidia card mode.

If the edges are still missing you're not in dot by dot mode, or your TV isn't 1080p. Try 1360x768.
