A rep told me over the phone that they do have PIP, but I have searched for hours and found no confirmed evidence of that. Can someone point me in the right direction please?

Many who use a modern DVR for any length of time lose interest in PIP once they become accustomed to recording their favorite programs and/or watching on a time-delay. That's why you tend not to see an outpouring of requests for PiP support.

If you don't yet have a new DirecTV DVR, I would spend at least a month or two with it before you worry about PiP.
