Okay so I am about to pull the trigger on an SB12-Plus. I want to put it in my living room that opens into a small eating area. The total area is roughly 3200 cubic feet. Some people are saying that the sealed sub is not going to fill my space with good bass. I'm trying to understand what you mean. Do you mean that it's not going to knock pictures off my wall or it's just not going to fill the room with bass that I can hear at all? I'm really confused here. I want a sub that is really accurate and especially with music. I know people keep recommending other subs, but it's a space issue for me and that is why I like the svs sub. If this will not work for my space can someone please recommend another sub. thanks!
What most are talking about is a tactile response from the sub/room. They also mean that you won't be able to pressurize the room. That is when the sub can move enough air that the ambient air pressure in the room will raise and fall with the driver's movements. This make for a very real feel from movie effects as you not only hear, but feel the effect. If you don't want reference levels (very loud to some) and/or you don't care about very low frequencies (<25Hz), then the SB12 will be good for you.
Because of the size of your room, you probably won't get much room gain down low to help reinforce the SB12s inability to produce high SPL at low frequencies.

I guess I have never experienced a sub like that. Coming from a Klipsch Sub-12 I never really felt that going on. I just want a good quality sub that sounds great. Would you recommend anything like a def tech supercube or anything like that for small size over the SVS?

Were you happy with the Klipsch Sub 12 in terms of output? Honestly I'd doubt the SB12-Plus has much more output capability than the Klipsch. It also probably doesn't dig much deeper. IMO the biggest perks of the SB12 over the Klipsch are its aesthetics and better sound quality. If you're looking for a jump in output, I'd look elsewhere. However, your primary concern appears to be sound quality, and the SB12 should be a good upgrade over the Klipsch in that department.

The SB12-Plus response is (+/- 3dB 22Hz-150Hz). Here is an example of a single 12" subwoofer that is flat anechoic response from 35Hz to 200Hz in a living room which is very large, and four of them in a 3200 cubic foot room. The measurement in my HT room is an averaged response in four seating locations and there are two filters using an equalizer to cut some peaks. Hope this helps give you an idea what kind of extention to expect. I measure 22.5 Hz and most music seems to be around 50Hz, so you will be covered with the SVS for music and have some good output.
My subs are a little less expensive than the SVS but do not have all the extras and don't look near as nice with the budget version. My THX-12SUB subwoofers by Crystal Audio & Video are High Sensitivity 93dB/W/m, and have less than 2% distortion. The SVS sub your looking at is an excellent choice and given your requirements I thought I might throw my subs in for consideration also.
