I've searched this forum and read plenty of great inputs and suggestions, but it seems that either someone has close to the same room layout but different budgets or the other way around. Having said that, I created a new thread to invite anyone that can help with my setup.

My room size is 15x21x10 open to the kitchen and nook which is 20x14x10. This is a dedicated room for HT and entertainment and the size of the subwoofer is not a factor, just need to have good SQ that will fill the room.

80% for HT/TV 20% for Music
Budget is >$1000 US dollar

With my research I think I narrowed it down to HSU VTS3 MK3 or AV123 MFW-15, but I'm open to any other suggestion for a quality power subwoofer to replace my 7 year old Sunfire MKII.

Epik Castle
eD a7s-450
Those would be my top two choices

Not sure about the exchange rate, but the Paradigm servo 15 is a monster performer.
It will fill your house:)
Check it out. Perhaps one of their smaller seismic subs will do ya?

Happy shopping

I looked into the Epik, eD, and Paradigm, all received good reviews. The Paradigm is over my budget, this wouldn't be an issue if the wife didn't convince me to invest in having a kids.

Seems like 15" or larger driver is the recommendation so far. Should I not look at the HSU since it has a 12" driver?

+1 on the Epik Castle, but if you can afford another $100, go for the Tower; it's slightly larger and tuned to give you 2-3 more db than the castle in the 10-20hz range. I have a Tower and love it. It will definately fill your room no problem...and you can't beat the price; $1099 plus shipping. If budget is really a concern, get the Castle;)

How's the customer service and support from Epik?

I tried calling them 5x Friday afternoon between 1pm-4pm and got voicemail everytime. I really like what I've read about them and want to know if they have the Castle in stock and if not I would consider the Tower. This is the first time I've experienced not being able to get in contact with a sales rep. or customer service from a company.

This is normal for Epik. They are understaffed, but they do back their product in every way. If you email them and call them they should get back to you. These are "made to order" subs, so it's gonna take atleast 4 weeks before you see your sub. For me, it was worth the wait for my tower, but it's up to you. My second choice (which was out of my budget) was the SVS PB13 Ultra and right now they are $1600 with free shipping till the 15th of this month...something to consider.
