The power supply on my AE700 recently died (or at least I think it did, no power light would come on). Following the helpful hints on other threads in this forum, I ordered a new power supply and replaced it.

Now the projector will turn on, for about 5 seconds. The fan kicks in, the bulb turns on, the shutter opens... and then it shuts itself down. The power light switches from green to red, and that is it. Pushing the power button again will not start it up. If I power cycle the unit, it goes through the same routine.

There is a red LED flashing on the A-PC circuit board, near the CPU as well.

So I guess I messed something else up when I replaced the power supply. Any thoughts? Where could I take it to be repaired? I live near Washington DC (Falls Church, VA).

Any help, hints, random thoughts, etc, would be greatly appreciated.

I took the AE700 apart and put it back together again. Turns out I had knocked off a connector to one of the fans. Specifically, the connector on the A-PC board that goes to the fan directly below the air filter.

That's what I get for trying to repair this late at night.

On teh bad (or good) side... thinking I was going to have to buy a new projector for the holidays, I started reading up on the new crop of projectors out there. Time to start planning for the projector upgrade! But this time I can do it on my schedule, not out of necesity.
