I hope this is the right place to ask this question.

I have Samsung 46" 1080P HDTV, Oppo DVD player and cable vision box Scientific Atlanta 4250HD. I have HDMI connecting TV with DVD and Cable Box.

My problem is everytime I change channels the picture size changes and so sometimes it is zoomed/stretched out that it goes out of screen. Sometimes it is smaller than the screen and I have to manually stretch it.

Are there any settings that can automatically fit to the screen?

With your Samsung TV your picture size settings are set and saved separatly for each resolution it receives over each interface so you should be able to set them once for each input resolution and never have to worry about them again.
You can use the Info button on your samsung to find out resolution it is receiving at any time.

You may want to also ask this in the thead for this TV in the flat panel section.

Verify the setup/settings of the cable box using the setup wizard.
Make sure it's setup for 16:9 video and upconvert1
