Apologies if this is the wrong place. I have my PC connected to my HDTV (Vizio VO32L) over a DVI->HDMI cable, and I'd like to route stereo audio to it as well. The TV has an HDMI + stereo audio input for this kind of use. However, my PC is also hooked up to regular speakers and I'd like to use those too.

My first thought is to simply use a splitter cable on the output, but I've heard that some electronics will drain the power from the audio signal in certain configurations -- I believe the Xbox 360 does when using a splitter to join two inputs, for example. So before I actually buy the cables, I just wanted to make sure that a dumb splitter cable would work fine.

Never heard of that. You're simply paralleling two high impedance loads, nothing bad will happen.

Okay, thanks. Grr, OF COURSE Monoprice is out of the splitter (http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10218&cs_id=1021802&p_id=667&seq=1&format=1#largeimage) until early next year. Sigh, I guess I'll overpay radio shack again.
