Hello all, I have recently started trying to record HD programs from my DVR box. I used this:

http://replayguide.sourceforge.net/dct6412/

tutorial to walk me through the set up process and everything. Long story short everything works for the most part but when I go to play my recordings back I get no sound.

My speakers are up and are working fine and Im sure it isnt a codec issue. I also tried opening the file in divx player, vlc and media player classic to no avail. The video plays flawlessly but again the sound doesnt. Anyone have any idea of what the issuer may be?

The files are ts files, I even tried converting the file to a divx/avi file with mp3 audio encoding but no dice. Thanks in advance.

Also any reason why the screen goes blank when recording (from the DVR to the PC) your actual recordings from the DVR?

Search is your friend.

There was a Motorola firmware upgrade that broke the firewire playback. A fix is in the works, but needs to be delivered and deployed by your cable provider.

The thread below provides the details and work around.
