On Schneider Optics' website they have an LCD wide screen magnifier. From reading the description, it sounds like it has 1.33x horizontal expansion. Could anybody else verify this for me? I'd love to hear some feedback *cough* CAVX *cough* :)

Here's the link: http://www.schneideroptics.com/Ecommerce/CatalogItemDetail.aspx?CID=1463&IID=1729

The first lens (0VS-LCWS-DVX) is much more expensive from other places. B&H is selling it for $229. I was unable to find specs anywhere that specified it's size, but at $99 direct from Schneider go for it! ;)

The first looks like an adapter for a camcorders' LCD viewfinder, but no size measurements are given. I'd call the mfg & ask questions about it before buying to be sure.

The second item appears to be more like what you might want to try, but no info is given about mount type or size. The description mentions GL1 & GL2, those are Canon DV camcorder models numbers.

Let us know what you find out !

Just to further what has already been stated. I would say that the "round lens" is a 0.75x compression lens (which technically means 1.33x expansion based on direction of light) used to convert a 4 x 3 cam-corder into 16:9 and could possible be used to take a 16:9 to the next level as well. This is designed for image capture and would work (size mainly) for projection.

The "box" is an optical expander to allow you to see the images in the correct geometry on the veiw finder when using that lens...

Thanks for that Link. The price pay for those lenses retail in Australia is astronomical getting it through them converted we still win. :)
