It started like this:

and is now looking like:
http://www.pjbj.ca/uploaded_images/IMG_1216_filtered-755336.jpg

It's a sound isolated, double drywalled, green glued, Kinetic Isomax Clipped, Hat Channelled, Stagger Studded or doublewalled 10 month creation. (No, I am not that slow, I worked on it for about 2 months, took 5 solid months off, and then worked on it in earnest for the past 3 months). I did all the work except for the carpet install.

The rough drawing of the plans is:

The last little details to be done are:
- box in lolly column with MDF
- buy some leather HT seating
- Blu Ray player (under the Xmas tree)
- permanent sound treatment panels, bass traps
- 2nd door to form an airlock

Details of the job are here: http://www.pjbj.ca/labels/basement.html

oops...

i never thought about that.

I got brass coloured hinges cause that's what we have in the rest of the house... (circa 1987)

I got the lever handles cause they are easier for people w arthritis and little kids to open. I liked the nickel color cause it's more updated.....

swap the hinges!! I too had brass hinges(and knobs) in my house. I swapped all them all for aged bronze hinges and crank levers. Its easy, and makes a difference in the looks department when they match.
