I have a question that may wind up to be more of asking for suggestions. I have a Yamaha RXV-663 7.2 receiver and the full 7.2 typical speaker setup with a Mitsubishi 1500 projector. I have read the manuals and have setup everything to a working state. I am hosting a “Lost” season premiere party next year and would like to apply the sound environment that would provide for the best HD and audio experience. The room is 20 X 12 with the projector on the smaller wall so speaker arrangement will be close. I will be using HDMI and have optical and coax available on the cable box. Any thoughts or suggestions or questions on anything I have not covered?
Thanks in Advance
Gabe

Have you calibrated the projector and surround receiver?
For the sound system level calibration with a db meter can make a nice difference. And, Doing some EQ and possibly room treatments can make a large difference at cutting down on excessive comb filtering and non-linear amplification/reproduction. Room treatments are costly, so thats a "if you have the money" suggestion. But i believe the yamaha allows custom EQ settings along with an auto EQ setup (if you trust the results).
For your projector, calibration of the color and grayscale can make a very large difference. Then you can perform proper black and white level calibration to prevent any video information from being clipped while offering the best black level and contrast possible.
Those would allow you to get the best of what you have.

It's definitely a good start. There are a couple blu-rays with some calibration help on them. Wall-E I know has it...Cars too I think. Not sure if the DVDs have them
Otherwise do a search for AV calibration disc.
