I have a Harman Kardon AVR-340 receiver with a pair of Paradigm Titan Monitor bookshelves for my front speakers, and recently added a Paradigm PDR-12 subwoofer. When I just had the pair of bookshelves, I had the receiver set to Stereo sound for all audio inputs. Now that I've added the subwoofer, I don't think the Stereo mode includes the LFE signal, but most of the surround modes do. What surround mode should I use for movies, music, games, etc?
Also, is there any type of calibration I need to do so that the frequency response of the subwoofer is properly matched to the bookshelf speakers? I'm familiar with subwoofer placement, so that isn't an issue. Right now I just have the crossover on the sub set to the maximum (150 Hz) and I'm allowing the crossover in the receiver to split up the sound. Is it that simple, or should I actually be entering a frequency somewhere?
