I just bought a sharp 32 inch 34u LCD TV, and my girlfriend was home when comcast was suppost to hook it all up. I knew they were going to f it up.

They gave me the "hd" box that doesnt have HDMI. They left component cables. I hooked it up all right and such and cant get anything but 480I coming in, even on the HD channels. I tried going into the setup of the cablebox to switch it to 1080i, or even 786i if they had it, but i cant seem to find it. I have also looked in my tv settings as well.

I am assuming it is because I dont have the HDMI cable box, with HDMI cable...

correct me if im wrong.

You are in the wrong forum but I'll try to help anyway....

If you have a Morotola DVR here is how to get into the settings you are trying to change:

I have a comcast HD box (non-DVR) that also does not have HDMI output. However, it does have a DVI output (like what you use to hook up a computer monitor). If you're not interested in using the component cables, you can buy cables that are DVI on one end and HDMI on the other. This is what I use, and it works fine.

The directions blitzen gave you should work fine for the setup portion.

Just be aware that the DVI connection will not provide audio. You will need to connect the analog or TOSlink audio connection to the TV as well (I can't remember if the DCT-6200 has coaxial digital or not).

When I got home I changed the cablebox output to 720P and I immediately saw a difference, I used to sell these things a while ago and just forgot alot of **** about them.

However they are coming out on sunday to deliver me a HDMI box, in which case I wont be using their cheap ass cables, I bought some better ones pretty cheap from blu-jeans.

Right now I just have the component from the cable-box to tv and the stereo audio from the cablebox to receiver...with my HT-64 speakers(nice speakers new for $129 shipped!)
