Hello,
What I want from my HTS is this:
1. Be able to hook up my computer via HDMI to the receiver and get both video and sound. (computer part is done I just need a receiver that will do this)
2. Hook up my PS3 and watch Blu-ray movies...via HDMI.

The easiest was I was thinking of doing this is just buy the Onkyo ht-s7100, but I do not need 7.1 right now, just 5.1 cus my room is small. I would just leave two speakers out then.

But I am not sure if the receiver Onkyo TX-SR606 is good enough for my PC setup.

I was thinking of buying the TX-SR706 model and seperate speakers. I found on another post that Energy speakers and great.
I was thinking of this:
Energy C-C50 Center Channel Loudspeaker - $79.00
Energy C-R100 Surround Loudspeaker - $79.00 x 2 = $158
Energy C-50 Bookshelf Loudspeakers - $99 x 2 = $178
Energy ESW-10 10-Inch Powered Subwoofer - $160
Total $575

Or just get the Energy S5.1 Home Theater System for $599. (Dont know if I want tower speakers tho)

PLUS a reveiver. The SR-606 is around $330. The SR-706 is $488.
My budget is below a $1000.

Now. Is the SR-606 enough for my needs...and is there any other option for the speakers?

My TV is SAMSUNG 52" 1080p LCD HDTV LN52A550

The best thing to do when considering a receiver is to look at the back of it and see if it has the connections you need and want. Crutchfield is the best source for an in depth look into the products they carry other than just the usual specs. Research both the receivers on Crutchfield.com and you will find out all you can possibly know without actually buying it.

About your speakers. Personally I don't buy speakers I've never heard. I've heard a few energy models that I have liked but those were the reference models like the RC-10 which I really liked. In a day where it seems like the only way to buy speakers is through the internet, I refuse unless I have heard them elsewhere and I know that is exactly what I want. I'm not a fan of the whole return authorization and paying for shipping for a product I don't own. Since speakers make the biggest impact on sound quality and are expensive, it is not something I wanna take a gamble on or somebody's word for. If you don't care about all that then buy at your own risk unless if you buy from select IDs that won't charge you shipping back to them. There are some but they are few.

Crutchfield has no information about those Energy speakers and klipsch speakers are just too expensive for me.

Has anyone have the Energy S5.1 Home Theater System? And would the Onkyo 606 receiver be enought to handle them?
