thanksVisionOn is correct, tt depends on the software installed on your DVR. To determine the software, click on the SARA link in my signature. Once you have determined the software, click on the proper link in my signature to go to that thread for more information.

If you have SARA, double click on the Settings button, to go to the General Settings page. Go to the Viewer: Power On preference and either select the channel or select Last Channel. If you have SARA, I think you can use an optical cable with the proper settings but I am not positive about this.
